NME magazine cover
After placing the image of NME's magazine cover in InDesign I made guides from the headlines (top and bottom) to help me place all my text in the correct places.
Next, I focused on the main text on the cover which is "Bombay Bicycle Club". So I opened up FontDoc and typed in Bombay and looked through all the different fonts until I found one similar. The font that I chose to use was Abadi MT Condensed Light. I also altered the tracking, the width and the height of the text.
After adjusting the text until it was similar to the one on the magazine cover, I typed in the rest of the title. Added a drop shadow and made sure that it was the same size as the text on the original cover.
After taking some photographs as similar as I could make them to the original. I edited them also to make them more alike with the original. I altered the colour of the front mans jacket to match the colour of the original magazine in Photoshop (original photo on right).
I did the same for the person on the right, changing the colour of his t-shirt from white to blue.
Here is the text completed and looking as similar to the original cover as I could make it. It was quite easy to complete all the text because most of it was the same typeface apart from the text used for the date and price.
Here is the magazine nearly completed.
And here is the NME magazine completed.
